OYSTER DAY a Huge Success
There was no place better to be on Monday afternoon than at the CCS waterfront. Students, faculty, administration and staff waded into the Rappahannock and worked side-by-side, forming a bucket brigade, to establish an oyster reef with 3 million oyster spats and 300 bags of shell. 9/24/2008 - Christchurch Grad on CNN
Bethany Poole '96 is the Product Marketing Whiz behind Google's latest hot idea - Project 10^100th. Bethany announced the project this morning on CNN. Google launches the $10M initiative in celebration of its 10th birthday, looking for ideas that could have "broad and beneficial impact on people's lives." Successful ideas will address such issues as providing food and shelter, building communities, sustaining the global ecosystem and promoting clean energy. "We want a wide range of ideas," says Bethany '96. "We think great ideas come from anywhere."
9/21/2008 - CCS Joins
Green Schools Alliance
Christchurch School has joined the Green Schools Alliance, a group of Pre-K to grade 12 schools uniting in commitment to greater environmental sustainability. Launched on World Environment Day June 5, 2007, GSA recognizes and supports the leadership role that schools can play in solving environmental and climate challenges. Christchurch School recognizes the need to begin reducing our carbon footprint by at least 30% over the next five years. Christchurch is also a member of the No Child Left Inside coalition.
